The #1 worldwide phenomenon.Bared to YouHe was beautiful and brilliant, jagged and white-hot. I was drawn to him as I'd never been to anything or anyone in my life. I craved his touch like a drug, even knowing it would weaken me. I was flawed and damaged, and he opened those cracks in me so easily...Gideon knew. He had demons of his own. And we would become the mirrors that reflected each other's most private wounds... and desires. The bonds of his love transformed me, even as I prayed that the torment of our pasts didn't tear us apart...Reflected in YouGideon Cross. As beautiful and flawless on the outside as he was damaged and tormented on the inside. He was a bright, scorching flame that singed me with the darkest of pleasures. I couldn't stay away. I didn't want to. He was my addiction... my every desire... mine.My past was as violent as his, and I was just as broken. We'd never work. It was too hard, too painful... except when it was perfect. Those moments when the driving hunger and desperate love were the most exquisite insanity. We were bound by our need. And our passion would take us beyond our limits to the sweetest, sharpest edge of obsession...Entwined with YouFrom the moment I first met Gideon Cross, I recognized something in him that I needed. Something I couldn't resist. I also saw the dangerous and damaged soul inside--so much like my own. I was drawn to it. I needed him as surely as I needed my heart to beat.No one knows how much he risked for me. How much I'd been threatened, or just how dark and desperate the shadow of our pasts would become.Entwined by our secrets, we tried to defy the odds. We made our own rules and surrendered completely to the exquisite power of possession...Captivated by YouGideon calls me his angel, but he's the miracle in my life. My gorgeous, wounded warrior, so determined to slay my demons while refusing to face his own.The vows we'd exchanged should have bound us tighter than blood and flesh. Instead they opened old wounds, exposed pain and insecurities, and lured bitter enemies out of the shadows. I felt him slipping from my grasp, my greatest fears becoming my reality, my love tested in ways I wasn't sure I was strong enough to bear.At the brightest time in our lives, the darkness of his past encroached and threatened everything we'd worked so hard for. We faced a terrible choice: the familiar safety of the lives we'd had before each other or the fight for a future that suddenly seemed an impossible and hopeless dream...Praise for the Crossfire Series"A steamy read that will have you furiously flipping pages."--Glamour"A highly charged story that flows and hits the mark."--Kirkus ReviewsSylvia Day is the #1 New York Times and #1 international bestselling author of over 20 award-winning novels sold in more than 40 countries. Absolute worse series I’ve ever read. I finished it because I paid for it but honestly, I would give this to any poor soul that really wanted it to prevent the author and company from gaining more money. It’s almost insulting how little work was put into writing this book and it’s so sad because it has a lot of potential. Regardless it’s just complete LAZINESS all around. Every time something interesting comes up Sylvia wraps it up in a page... how? She also repeats all the information from every previous book in the new one so you always feel like you’re just reading the other books all over again instead of a new one. The worst part about this book is the originality it lacks. Talk about an incredibly downgraded version of 50 shades of grey and I’m not saying that because of the kink either. If you’ve read both series, it’s very hard to miss EVERY similarity. Again, this book had the potential to be so much better than it is. She had great ideas apart from playing off of too many from the Grey series. Like I said before, she’s just lazy!! And because of this series I realized how little it means to be on the Times Bestseller. I think I read something with a similar writing style by a 6th grader once. Anyways I won’t be purchasing the last book. Based on how the previous 4 went it’s easy to sum it up in my head. Another crappy ending with crappy writing to go right along with it. So what can I say about this book?I have been recommended it countless times. And told if I like fifty shades of grey I would enjoy this. This story follows Eva who just moved to New York, to start a new job, and a new life with her best friend Cary. What she doesn't expect is running into Gideon Cross. He's dominating, demanding, and and possessive. But, Eva can also be possessive of what is hers too. They both have darkness in their pasts, and hoping to blindly find the light together.I finally decided to take the plunge and grab this series that has been recommended to me countless times. I wanted to be immersed in the story. I love a guy who is broken, and brooding over everything. And when a guy is possessive (in fiction) it can be hot. And while there were parts of this story I enjoyed, it was almost purely smut. The characters moved fast, with insta-love, the story only taking place over a couple weeks, but the story itself was slow moving. Every other page or so was sex. I am curious where the story and characters will go- they are dysfunctional, and there is definitely more that needs to be said or to happen- besides sex. I need to see these characters develop and grow, and the story to progress. This story was pure erotica and if you are looking to disappear in a work of sex and fiction Gideon is the man for the job.3.5 smutty ⭐ out of 5 ⭐.
