So, Nagi and Erika continue to cohabitate. Now, Sachi, Nagi's younger sister (and Erika's REAL sister) moves in with our two cuckoos. Its being made more and more obvious that Sachi is a brocon, and has serious feelings for Nagi, even moreso now that she's found out they aren't really related. The volume ends with Nagi almost accidentally doing something amorous to Sachi, which sets her heart aflutter. He tells her to forget it (almost) happened, but now she's wrought with confusion and emotion. Also, Hira, Nagi's crush and competitor for top grades at school, she invites Nagi out on a date. She dresses very cute for it, and Nagi almost accidentally does something amorous to her as well. He thinks she will be mad. Instead, it makes her giggle, and she tells Nagi that she thinks he's cute. Oh Nagi and Sachi's Father shows up at 3 AM & forces them and Erika to go fishing, Erika's Father makes a surprise visit as well, encounters Sachi, and takes her for a meal, where she gives away a lot of personal details about things between Nagi and Erika. Then Sachi agrees to spy on the cuckoos for Erika's Father. Oh yeah, and Erika tells her Mother that she thinks Nagi & Sachi would be the perfect couple! Story: ★★★½☆Art: ★★★★☆All through the first two volumes I kept thinking the art style felt familiar. And the name "Miki Yoshikawa" rang a bell, not that I heard it well. Now I know this series is illustrated and written by the mangaka who brought the world Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches. That was a series I enjoyed ages ago, but lost interest in almost as long ago. With 28 volumes of that previous series, I shouldn't expect any immediate resolutions in this current one. We can expect slice-of-life moments, situational comedy, unending complications, and new women popping up in Nagi's life to drive the overarching plot off into the weeds just when you think the story is going somewhere.And fan service. This volume had more than its fair share.I'm not a fan of the fan service, but I have to respect an author who can establish a setting for her characters to interact in for years. As the cast grows, expect more and more intersecting complications, but also more drama and laugh out loud hijinks. I tend to favor stories with a clear ending, but sometimes comedy can bring a much needed respite from the stresses in my day. Yoshikawa has become a master of shonen serialization, so expect the pacing to be more like a marathon, and enjoy the long winding route to the finish line.
